Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Note: I've moved the setting from Greyhawk to Forgotten Realms
Campaign
South of Baldur’s Gate, in the contested Lands of Intrigue where the trade city of Amn’s influence spreads, lies a quiet stretch of wetland between the Cloud Peaks and the Small Teeth mountains. Here, a sleepy fishing village called Saltmarsh teeters on the precipice of destruction.
Smugglers guide their ships to hidden coves, willing to slit the throat of anyone fool enough to cross their path. Creatures gather beneath the waves, and drowned sailors stir to unnatural life. As rumours spread of wealth in the near mountains, political factions circle for influence. All the while, forbidden gods whisper from the deep, hungry for fresh victims and eager disciples.
While Saltmarsh slumbers, the evils that seek to plunder it grow stronger.
You must rise up before the tide of darkness consumes the coast.
Hoist your sails, pull up anchor, and set a course for adventure! Aarrh!
Setting
We are going to start in the coastal town of Saltmarsh; It's predominantly a fishing town, but - due to being at the arse end of nowhere, with the cities of Amn, and Baldur's Gate to the north and east - people have tended to look after themselves, and due to this, Saltmarsh has a long history and reputation for pirates and smugglers.

On your journey to Saltmarsh it would have been hard to not hear talk of dwarves, and of precious gems that are rumoured to be deep in The Small Teeth mountains. And as always, with gossip of wealth comes those hoping to have a piece of it.
The campaign is more open world than others so the direction you take is more yours than usual, but there's a large focus on the sea, both on and under it. There will be opportunities to purchase your own ship, and travel the seas. There's also significant politics, intrigue, and the typical adventures in forests and under mountains. Depending on the party's choices there's no reason why we can't get to level 20 - if you so choose.
I'll provide more details on the larger region depending where you've travelled from.
